Key Responsibilities of Program Officer:
- Provides the essential technical expertise in his or her relevant fields and facilitates the confluence of child rights, social mobilization, and advocacy actions in the field. Provide technical support to project personnel and oversee field staff (SM), working directly with the program coordinator.
- The officer should have a strong working relationship with local government and guarantee excellent collaboration in the project area. He or she must also have extensive knowledge, abilities, and experience in staff and community mobilization and facilitation.
- Provide technical assistance in the design and delivery of training and other activities related to the Local Rights Program operations.
- To meet our LRP objectives, we will train, coach, and assist teams across all project sites.
- Organize and facilitate field-level meetings, workshops, group discussions, and training sessions.
- Working with the monitoring department to develop monitoring methods and work plans for tracking the project's impact on children's rights and society. Giving Technical Solutions to Local Staff.
- Visit community development groups and members at the project work area.
- Support community educators by visiting and training them on social mobilization and child rights issues.
- Participate in frequent team meetings and work as planned.
- Offer technical help to the community. Guide communities through group meetings and provide necessary suggestions to address growing challenges.
- Report monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual progress on all project activities to the Program Coordinator.
Required Qualification & Experience for Program Officer:
- Bachelor's degree in social science or other comparable areas, with at least two years of work experience in the social empowerment and community development sectors.
- Previous experience working on projects related to social mobilization and empowerment, food security, nutrition, and integrated community development sectors, as well as social and community mobilization, is strongly appreciated.
- Experience working with teams, team building, and outcomes-oriented community level involvement to achieve synergistic outcomes and results in partnership with relevant local stakeholders and other development actors.
- Experience arranging training, facilitating seminars, and doing other capacity-building activities for a variety of audiences.
Required Skill & Knowledge for Program Officer:
- Well-versed in English and Nepali, with a solid understanding of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Fluency in the written and spoken English languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- Interested in policy lobbying and advocacy on the aforementioned areas at the local level.
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Coordination, collaboration, leadership, and organisational abilities.
- Strong communication, planning, and cooperation skills are required, as well as an interest in working in distant areas.
