About Us:

The Center for Mental Health & Counseling Nepal (CMC-Nepal), established in May 2003, is a national NGO providing quality, affordable mental health and psychosocial counseling services. Registered with the Kathmandu District Administration Office and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, CMC-Nepal collaborates with government bodies, I/NGOs, and CBOs. It focuses on prevention, promotion, curative care, and community rehabilitation, building capacity among health professionals and raising awareness about mental health. Over 18 years, CMC-Nepal has worked with conflict-affected individuals, disaster survivors, migrant workers, and marginalized communities, partnering with organizations like Felm-Finland, Tearfund Australia, UNFPA, EU, UNICEF, and the World Bank.

Project Description:

The Center for Mental Health & Counseling Nepal (CMC-Nepal) is seeking qualified candidates to join our team in contributing to gender equality in Nepal. Our project, "Shaskat Mahila Sambriddha Nepal," is a collaborative effort with the Government of Nepal, the United Nations, and the European Union. This initiative aims to empower women and girls in the Madhes, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. With support from UNFPA, CMC-Nepal will partner with Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City and the Provincial Hospital in Dhanusha to provide crucial support services for individuals affected by gender-based violence.

Required Qualification & Experience for Community Psychosocial Worker:

  • Educational Qualification: At least passed 12th grade or equivalent.
  • Experience: 
    • Experience in handling and monitoring cases with psychosocial problems.
    • Preference for candidates with experience as psychosocial facilitators or social workers.

Required Skills & Knowledge for Community Psychosocial Worker:

  • Interest in reducing and preventing gender-based violence in the community.
  • Ability to create reports on completed work.
  • Strong commitment to fulfilling given responsibilities.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to assist in challenging situations.
  • Ability to coordinate with local clubs, women's groups, mothers' groups, female health volunteers, disability organizations, health organizations, and other programs conducted by local and non-governmental organizations in the ward.
  • Proficiency in email, internet, MS Word, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge about gender-based violence at local and national levels, and the need for psychosocial support for those affected.
  • Eagerness to learn new subjects.
  • Special consideration for candidates from Dalit, tribal, minority, and marginalized communities.
