This 5-year project aims to improve the health system by enhancing governance, reducing demand-side barriers, and boosting community accountability. As the Director, you will play a key role in implementing robust financial and administrative systems to support this transformative program.
Director of Finance and Administration Job Description:
As the Director of Finance and Administration for the USAID Better Health Activity, you will play a key role in implementing robust financial and administrative systems for the project. Your responsibilities include monitoring finance and administration policies and procedures, ensuring proper resource allocation, and managing all aspects of program budgeting and compliance.

Responsibilities of Director of Finance and Administration:
- Financial Accounting & Reporting:
- Manage accounts and financial reports in compliance with USAID and in-country standards.
- Handle monthly account reconciliations, bank account management, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee audits and collaborate with auditors to maintain proper financial monitoring.
- Program Budget Management & Reporting:
- Maintain robust systems to manage and code activity spending.
- Prepare and submit regular financial reports and forecasts to the project team and USAID.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Party on budget projections and reporting.
- Partner Financial Management:
- Monitor partner financial performance to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.
- Provide financial guidance and support to partners and conduct regular financial reviews.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance, administrative, logistics, and compliance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability and ethical conduct.
- Financial Integrity & Compliance:
- Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with USAID regulations and Nepalese law.
- Safeguarding:
- Act as the national Safeguarding Focal person, championing safeguarding practices.
- Monitor the implementation of the Child and Adult at Risk Safeguarding Policy.
Required Qualification & Experience for Director of Finance and Administration:
- A degree in Business Administration, Bachelor of Commerce, or Chartered Accountant.
- Strong understanding of national regulatory requirements.
- Significant experience managing finances and administration for USAID contracts.
- Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
- Experience with procurement and compliance with best practice guidelines.
Required Skills for Director of Finance and Administration:
- Strong planning and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English and Nepali.
- Proficiency in accounting and payroll software.
- Expertise in financial and risk management.
