Grants and Procurement Officer Job Description:

As Grants and Procurement Officer for the USAID Biodiversity (Jal Jangal) program, you will support grant and procurement operations in the Kathmandu office and various project sites. You will collaborate with the Grants & Procurement Managers, Landscape Team Leaders, and other stakeholders to manage activities efficiently.

Responsibilities of Grants and Procurement Officer:

  • Grants Management:
    • Coordinate with Grants and Procurement Managers and Landscape
    • Team Leaders to identify areas and geographies for grant support.
    • Draft Requests for Applications (RFAs) and manage grant applications.
    • Evaluate grant applications and budgets to ensure compliance with USAID and DAI regulations.
    • Monitor grant activities and maintain thorough records in the TAMIS system.
    • Provide administrative assistance and support throughout the grants management process.
    • Oversee the selection process and facilitate the timely processing of grants.
  • Procurement Management:
    • Assist the procurement team in database entry, tracking, and reporting.
    • Solicit bids and quotes from vendors in adherence to program policies.
    • Serve on procurement evaluation committees, ensuring proper vendor selection.
    • Monitor procurement activities and delivery status of goods/services.
    • Assist in maintaining integrity, fairness, and transparency in the procurement process.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and contribute to inventory management.

Required Qualification & Experience for Grants and Procurement Officer:

  • A master's degree with 4 years of professional experience or a bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience is required. Candidates from excluded groups can reduce the experience requirement by one year (3 years with a master's degree or 7 years with a bachelor's degree).
  • A strong understanding of USAID grants and procurement policies and regulations is highly desirable.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the ability to perform high-level duties with minimal supervision while maintaining privacy and discretion.
