The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a Compliance and Risk Management Officer to join our team in Kathmandu, Nepal. This role is pivotal in ensuring the effective financial and administrative management of our programs, supporting the Nepal Government in health policy implementation, and enhancing our organizational efficiency.

Responsibilities of Compliance and Risk Management Officer:
- Risk and Compliance Assessments: Conduct thorough risk and compliance assessments of the country office, ensuring adherence to WHO rules and optimal resource use.
- Reporting and Recommendations: Present detailed analyzes and actionable recommendations to senior management based on systematic assessments.
- Risk Management Integration: Aid country office leadership in integrating risk management into various operational facets, including decision-making, planning, and evaluation.
- Audit Implementation: Support the implementation and follow-up of internal and external audit recommendations.
- Promote Risk Awareness: Foster a culture of risk awareness and accountability through education, training, and knowledge dissemination.
- Corporate Knowledge Development: Contribute to the development of WHO's knowledge products on compliance and risk management.
Required Qualification & Experience for Compliance and Risk Management Officer:
- Education:
- Essential: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, law, finance, economics, risk management).
- Desirable: Certification in risk management.
- Experience:
- Essential: At least five years of relevant experience in general management, oversight, and/or internal control frameworks.
- Desirable: Experience within the UN system or in the private sector, with international context exposure.
Required l Knowledge and Skills for Compliance and Risk Management Officer:
- Proficiency in implementing and monitoring accountability frameworks.
- Expertise in statistical analysis and risk assessment tools.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Collaborative work style with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze evidence and draw reasonable conclusions.
- Languages: Essential: Expert knowledge of English.
Salary & Benefit for Compliance and Risk Management Officer:
- Base Salary: Starting at USD 64,121 per annum.
- Post Adjustment: USD 1,753 per month.
- Other Benefits: 30 days of annual leave, dependent family allowances, home leave, and education grants.
