Security Investigator Job Description:

The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu is looking for a Security Investigator (Criminal Fraud Investigator). This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to conduct criminal investigations involving sensitive and complex cases such as counterfeit/forged travel documents, human trafficking, smuggling, and other related crimes. This role also involves liaising with local law enforcement agencies and U.S. attorney's offices.

Duty & Responsibilities of Security Investigator:

  • Conduct routine and complex criminal investigations involving various crimes, including forgery, human trafficking, smuggling, and conspiracy.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local law enforcement agencies and contacts.
  • Collaborate with U.S. law enforcement agencies and U.S. attorney's offices.
  • Develop and present training materials related to criminal investigations and anti-fraud efforts.
  • Monitor local law enforcement reports and open sources to collect criminal intelligence.

Required Qualification & Experience for Security Investigator:

  • Education: Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Law, Law Enforcement, Security, International Relations, Politics, Criminal Justice and Forensics, or Public Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years working in a professional capacity in criminal or investigative fields, either in local government or in conjunction with the U.S. government.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Language for Security Investigator:

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English and Nepali (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. A valid Nepali Class B driver's license for the last five years is essential.

Salary & Benefit for Security Investigator:

  • Salary: Salary: NPR ₨2,996,847 per year
  • Benefits will be discussed with the selected candidate during the job offer.

  • Hiring preference is given to certain applicants according to the U.S. Mission's hiring preferences.
