Senior Energy Specialist Job Description:
The World Bank is looking for a Senior Energy Specialist to join our team in Kathmandu, Nepal. As a Senior Energy Specialist, you will work on projects that address significant energy challenges in the region and contribute to the broader goals of the Sustainable Energy for All initiative. You will engage in policy dialogue, guide portfolio implementation, and drive business development within Nepal's energy sector.

Duties & Accountabilities of Senior Energy Specialist:
- Support ongoing energy sector reforms in Nepal and guide strategic energy discussions.
- Lead and manage operations, including policy dialogue, lending, and supervision.
- Work on complex projects, such as hydropower development, renewable energy, and infrastructure enhancements.
- Develop strategic partnerships and engage with private capital to support client countries.
- Advise colleagues and clients on best practices in the energy sector.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.
Required Qualification & Experience for Senior Energy Specialist:
- Advanced degree in a relevant field and substantial professional experience (8+ years).
- Expertise in World Bank financing operations and familiarity with World Bank instruments.
- Experience in designing and managing/supporting diverse projects and innovative analytical work.
Required Skills for Senior Energy Specialist:
- Proven ability to lead high-level policy discussions and communicate complex issues effectively.
- Client-oriented with a strong focus on achieving results.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills across practices and disciplines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
