Senior Grants Acquisition Specialist Job Description:

As part of the Grants Acquisition and Management (GAM) department, the Senior Grants Acquisition Specialist will lead in identifying, developing, and submitting quality concept notes and proposals for institutional grant funding and internal World Vision funding. This role involves efficient coordination with key staff across various departments within WVI Nepal and the wider WVI partnership to ensure successful grant acquisition and management.

Major Responsibilities of Senior Grants Acquisition Specialist:

  1. Lead the identification, development, and timely submission of quality concept notes and proposals.
  2. Work on key bid elements including program design, strategic partnerships, presentation of evidence, and track record.
  3. Develop concept papers and proposals for bilateral, multilateral donors, and WV private internal funding.
  4. Support assessment processes for new projects, including potential travel to project sites.
  5. Apply learning and best practices from project evaluations and field reports to new proposals.
  6. Assist in identifying funding sources and planning Grant Start-Up/ Compliance workshops.
  7. Coordinate comprehensive hand-over of projects to new Project Managers.
  8. Support program managers for timely, detailed, and quality reports to donors.
  9. Develop high-quality communication materials for donor engagement.
  10. Maintain positive communication with Support Offices, field teams, and partners.
  11. Establish and strengthen relationships with key actors and NGOs for donor intelligence.
  12. Advise on potential fundraising opportunities based on emerging trends.

Required Qualification & Experience for Senior Grants Acquisition Specialist:

  • Bachelor's degree in development studies, social science, or a related field, Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar positions within development/humanitarian organizations in Nepal.
  • Experience in external engagement with NGOs and private sector parties.
  • Experience in developing concept notes/proposals for bilateral and/or multilateral donors.

Required Skills & Knowledge for Senior Grants Acquisition Specialist:

  • Familiarity with logframes and theories of change in development programming.
  • Knowledge of securing donors, particularly USAID, DFID, EU, DFAT, World Bank, and/or UN agencies.
  • Ability to manage tight project proposal deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Program Design, Monitoring, and Evaluation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and oral command of English language.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to grasp complex program concepts.
