Field Researchers Job Description:

Global Action Nepal is looking for two enthusiastic Field Researchers to join our team. These roles are perfect for those who are passionate about field research and community engagement. You will be a vital part of our research activities at specific project sites.

Role Overview:

  • Organization Name: Global Action Nepal
  • Job Title: Field Researchers
  • Required No: 2 (Two)
  • Duty Location:
    • Ward Number 5, Machhapuchhre Rural Municipality
    • Ward Number 21, Pokhara Metropolitan City
  • Duration: 90 working days spread over an 18-month project period (periodic visits as needed)

Responsibilities of Field Researchers:

  • Coordination of Focus Groups and Workshops: Lead the recruitment of participants, and organize and host Focus Group Discussions and Stakeholders Workshops.
  • Field Program Support: Assist with field programs and activities.
  • Participant Selection: Help select study participants from the community.
  • Participant Assistance: Guide participants in filling out daily diaries.
  • Data Entry: Use tablets for data entry and processing.
  • Product Collection: Collect used products from participants and safely send them to a laboratory in Kathmandu (TU) for analysis.
  • Site Visits: Visit project sites regularly as needed for the research.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit reports on field visits and other related activities. Provide feedback reports based on interactions with study participants.
  • Training Participation: Engage in capacity-building training sessions for the research team.
  • Coordination: Support coordination with study participants, field-level stakeholders, and research team members from Kathmandu and Cardiff University.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with study participants, other team members, and relevant organizations.
  • Progress Reporting: Report research progress to the Research Manager and Technical Lead.

Required Qualification & Experience for Field Researchers:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Public Health, or Health Education.
  • Experience: Experience in survey and research work.

Required Skills & Knowledge for Field Researchers:

  • Ability to facilitate focus group discussions, orientations, and workshops.
  • Proficient in using technology and information tools.
  • Strong skills in networking, coordination, communication, reporting, and management.
  • Knowledge of advocacy and campaigning.
  • Documentation skills.
  • Preferred: Ability to ride a two-wheeler with a valid license.
