Hospital Physiotherapy Officer Job Description:

Are you passionate about providing physiotherapy services to patients in need? Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (OCH) is seeking a dedicated Hospital Physiotherapy Officer to join our team. As a Hospital Physiotherapy Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing continuous physiotherapy services to patients across various wards and outpatient departments, contributing to their rehabilitation and overall well-being.

Responsibilities of Hospital Physiotherapy Officer:

  1. Assess and treat inpatients on the general wards, pediatric ward, and maternity ward, as well as in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation rooms.
  2. Work closely with orthopedic surgeons to provide pre and post-operative physiotherapy care.
  3. Maintain accurate records of patient treatment and progress notes.
  4. Provide therapeutic counseling and education to patients and caregivers.
  5. Transfer physiotherapy skills to physiotherapy assistants and patient caregivers.
  6. Assist in referring patients to secondary and tertiary centers for further treatment and rehabilitation.
    Provide training to hospital staff on patient lifting, moving, and handling techniques.
  7. Occasionally support Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) projects through field trips and training support.
  8. Collaborate with the Rehabilitation Therapist to develop and expand the hospital's rehabilitation services.
  9. Organize the work of physiotherapy assistants and monitor the hospital's physiotherapy service to ensure high standards of patient care.
  10. Carry out any other duties as required by OCH administration and Rehabilitation Therapist.

Required Qualification & Experience for Hospital Physiotherapy Officer:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in physiotherapy.
  • Registered with Nepal Health Professional Council.
  • Flexible attitude towards hospital-based and community-based work, with a willingness to work in remote rural areas.
  • Commitment to providing unbiased service to all individuals regardless of economic status or cultural background.
  • Ability to live and work in a rural setting and occasional travel to remote areas.

Desirable:

  • Experience in neurological rehabilitation, such as CVA, Cerebral Palsy, and spinal cord injury.
  • 2 or more years of experience in treating a variety of physiotherapy cases.

  • Strong social skills to build effective working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness.
