Obstetrician/Gynaecologist Job Description:

As an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist at Okhaldhunga Community Hospital, you'll play a pivotal role in providing expert care, guidance, and management in obstetrics and gynaecology. Your responsibilities will extend beyond clinical duties to include mentoring and teaching junior doctors, contributing to strategic planning, and upholding professional standards within our hospital.

Responsibilities of Obstetrician/Gynaecologist:

1.General Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to clinical staff.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in clinical practice and effective communication.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a demanding work environment.
  • Possess knowledge of relevant Government of Nepal policies.
  • Undertake additional duties within the scope of qualifications and experience as assigned by the Medical Coordinator.

2.Technical Responsibilities:

  • Engage in clinical work, including after-hours shifts.
  • Be accessible for consultations with junior medical and paramedical staff.
  • Lead obstetrics and gynecology services at OCH.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to develop and implement operating guidelines.
  • Assume the role of Acting Medical Coordinator in the absence of the incumbent.
  • Contribute to the education of junior medical officers and paramedics.
  • Provide input into the formulation of patient admission, treatment, and discharge policies.
  • Work independently within the limits of expertise while consulting with the Medical Coordinator as needed.
  • Foster a culture of mutual learning and sharing among senior medical staff.

Required Qualification & Experience for Obstetrician/Gynaecologist:

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Surgery MD/MS in obstetrics/gynaecology (or equivalent) from a recognized university with Nepal Medical Council registration.

Preferred Experiences:

  • Newly graduated Ob/Gyn specialists are welcome to apply.
  • One or two years of work experience as an O&G consultant would be an advantage.

  • Provision of comprehensive clinical services.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior doctors and paramedics.
  • Collaboration with Nursing Superintendent for staff education.
