Public Engagement Specialist Job Description:

The U.S. Mission in Kathmandu, Nepal is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Public Engagement Specialist (American Spaces Program Specialist). This vacancy is open to all interested applicants. The incumbent will direct, manage, and oversee all Partner American Spaces and ensure compliance with partnership agreements.

Duties of Public Engagement Specialist:

  • Directing, managing, and overseeing all Partner American Spaces.
  • Ensuring compliance of each partnership agreement with requirements.
  • Overseeing operations of wholly-owned and operated American Center(s).
  • Developing and maintaining USG ties with the "Emerging Voices" sector.
  • Preparing, managing, and tracking American Spaces' annual budget.
  • Recommending strategic locations for optimal return on investment in American Spaces.

Required Qualification & Experience for Public Engagement Specialist:

  1. Experience: A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience delivering information resources, with at least one additional year of supervisory experience. OR a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience delivering information resources, with at least one additional year of supervisory experience.
  2. Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, Library Science, International Affairs, or Business Management is required, OR two years of University Study in any field.

Required Skills for Public Engagement Specialist:

  1. Language Skills: Fluent in English and Nepali.
  2. Skills and Abilities: Good analytical, communication, management, and interpersonal skills. Good technical skills on using social media, mobile platforms, and digital tools.

  • Salary: NPR ₨ 2,908,154 /Per Year
