Technical Coordinator Job Description:

Hamro Pratigya – Our Promise: Empowering Voices, Ending Gender-Based Violence is a multi-year initiative funded by FCDO and led by People in Need. Aligned with UK's Gender Equality Act 2014 and Nepal's federalism transition, the project aims to combat gender-based violence and promote social norm change in Bara, Sarlahi, and Dhanusha districts of Madhesh Province.

Hamro Pratigya – Our Promise: Empowering Voices, Ending Gender-Based Violence is under the Security and Justice Programme. Aligned with the UK Gender Equality Act 2014 and the British Embassy Kathmandu's Country Plan, the project aims to reduce gender-based violence by shifting social norms and empowering marginalized communities in Bara, Sarlahi & Dhanusha districts. Funded by FCDO and led by People in Need, the project supports Community Based Organizations (CBOs) and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to enhance community resilience and service delivery.

  • Reports to: Project Manager

Roles & Responsibilities of Technical Coordinator:

  • Key Summary of Functions:
    • Assist the Program Manager in project management, budget oversight, and implementation of project outputs including gender and inclusion strategies, safeguarding, and educational resilience.
    • Support in planning, budget forecasting, and monitoring of activities, preparing reports, case studies, and documenting project progress.
    • Lead periodic review meetings to track project outcomes, manage project staff, assess capacity building needs, and ensure effective resource management.
    • Provide technical guidance for community engagement and capacity development, integrating cross-cutting issues like gender, safeguarding, and environmental sustainability.
    • Coordinate with government and non-government stakeholders to optimize project impact and minimize duplication.
  • Program Management for Technical Coordinator:
    • Ensure compliance with DDRC and donor financial and procurement procedures at the provincial level.
    • Monitor adherence to safeguarding policies and protocols, ensuring immediate redressal of complaints and issues.
    • Align project implementation with People in Need's policies and guidelines, ensuring effective operational management.
  • Representation and Networking for Technical Coordinator:
    • Act as the focal point for provincial-level communication with stakeholders, representing DDRC professionally.
    • Engage in advocacy and policy dialogues to influence local policies and enhance community representation.
  • Mainstreaming and Quality Management for Technical Coordinator:
    • Conduct regular field visits and assessments, analyze program effectiveness, and implement improvements based on feedback.
    • Oversee gender and social inclusion aspects in project planning and implementation, ensuring value for money and quality focus.

Required Qualification & Experience for Technical Coordinator:

  • Bachelor's degree in gender studies, social sciences, rural development, or related fields.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in managing GBV prevention and response programs within I/NGOs.

Required Skills & Knowledge for Technical Coordinator:

  • Proven expertise in gender transformative programming, community mobilization, and capacity building.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in English; Knowledge of local languages ​​(Bhojpuri, Maithili) preferred.
