UNOPS Nepal Context:

Since 2015, UNOPS has been closely collaborating with the Government of Nepal and various development partners to enhance development efforts in the country. Projects have included modernizing the Nepal Police, post-earthquake assessments, and facilitating housing grant schemes. Project Information:

The FCDO's Security and Justice Program (SJP) is a five-year initiative (2023-2027) with a budget of up to GBP 35 million. Focused on addressing criminal violence, particularly gender-based violence (GBV), and strengthening relevant government entities such as the Nepal Police, the SJP aims to enhance security and justice services. The program targets improved public safety, enhanced capacity at provincial and local levels, and reduced prevalence of GBV.

HR Senior Assistant Job Description:

Under the guidance of the Senior Administration/Operations Manager and overall direction of the Head of Support Services, the HR Senior Assistant will provide technical and administrative support in various HR management areas. Responsibilities include policy support, advisory services, talent acquisition, team management, and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities of HR Senior Assistant:

  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies.
  • Provide advice and guidance to personnel on administrative procedures and HR services.

  • Handle reference checking, testing, and interview arrangements.
  • Maintain personnel files, monitor HR actions, and provide statistical summaries.
  • Facilitate training and learning initiatives on HR-related topics.

Required Qualification & Experience for HR Senior Assistant:

  • Completion of secondary education is required.
  • First university degree in HR management, business administration, or equivalent disciplines is desirable.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in HR advisory, recruitment, and/or HR-generalist services.

Required Skills for HR Senior Assistant:

  • Proficiency in MS Office and web-based management systems is required.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Nepali is required.
