Since our establishment in 2005, we have been at the forefront of promoting psychosocial well-being, especially among conflict-affected and vulnerable communities.

Project Overview:

Currently, we are undertaking a 3-year research project funded by the Wellcome Trust UK. The project aims to develop and pilot-test a community-based intervention to promote help-seeking for depression care.

Key Responsibilities of Psychosocial Counselor:

As a Psychosocial Counselor, you will:

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and offer psychosocial counseling support to individuals in need.
  • Conduct home visits and collaborate with family members when necessary.
  • Facilitate referrals for additional care by collaborating with other service providers.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings and weekly supervision sessions.
  • Advocate for the promotion of psychosocial support activities with local governments and stakeholders.
  • Adhere to project lead's directives regarding strategic project benefits.

Required Qualifications & Experience for Psychosocial Counselor:

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline, along with six-month psychosocial counseling training/Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Counseling Psychology. A master's degree in Psychology would be advantageous.
  • Minimum one year of experience as a psychosocial counselor.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates residing in Morang.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including report preparation and case management database maintenance.
