Project Informations:
In response to the devastating earthquake that struck Jajarkot District in Karnali Province on November 3, 2023, IOM is committed to supporting recovery efforts in the affected regions. With its focus on leading Shelter Recovery interventions from May 2024 to January 2025, IOM aims to facilitate long-term recovery and resilience building in the impacted communities.
Social Mobilization Assistant Job Description:
The Social Mobilization Assistant will work under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and direct supervision of the National Program Officer/Head MECR and Shelter Expert. The role involves assisting with shelter and settlements interventions for Jajarkot earthquake recovery.

- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful event outcomes.
- Implementing disaster risk reduction policies, guidelines, and action plans at the local and district levels.
Required Qualifications and Experience for Social Mobilization Assistant:
- Education: Relevant educational qualifications.
- Experience: Experience planning and executing community outreach programs.
Required Skills for Social Mobilization Assistant:
- Skills in coordinating training sessions, workshops, and events.
- Proficiency in logistical planning, agenda development, participant coordination, and post-event reporting.
- Familiarity with disaster risk reduction policies and guidelines at local and district levels.
